Order Rules (Case, Pallet, Assortment)

Case quantities, pallet multiples and assortment rules enforced in the basket, not after the fact

Define a minimum order quantity, an inner-case multiple, pallet completion and required assortment mixes per product. Type 7 into the quantity box and the basket rounds up to the case size and explains, on the line itself, why. Minimum order values, family-level thresholds and a pallet-fill warning are checked before checkout, so broken cases and short pallets never reach the warehouse.

Working Processes

How the process works, step by step

  1. Case Quantity

Every product gets an inner-case quantity and a selling unit, so a dealer can work in pieces or in cases.

  2. Pallet Multiples

Family-level settings carry the cases-per-pallet figure and the decision on whether mixed pallets may go out at all.

  3. Minimum Thresholds

Minimum quantity per product, minimum value per basket and family-level floors all go in at this point.

  4. Assortment Definition

One table fixes how many of each variant go into an assortment box, which then sells as a single code.

  5. Exception Rules

Relaxations for key accounts or for a promotional period are defined with an expiry date and a reason on record.

  6. Quantity Entry

The dealer types the quantity they want and sees the case and pallet equivalent update alongside it.

  7. Rounding

A quantity that misses the case multiple is pulled to the nearest one. The dealer can round down instead of up, as long as the result still clears the minimum order quantity.

  8. Assortment Check

Where a mix is required, a missing variant raises a warning and the lines that would complete the box are suggested.

  9. Pallet Fill

Pallet fill climbs as the basket grows, and the portal offers the dealer whatever quantity would close the gap.

  10. Checkout Validation

Every rule runs once more just before submission, and the button stays closed while a breach remains.

  11. Handoff to the Warehouse

The order reaches the ERP already broken into cases and pallets, so nobody picks a split case or a short pallet.

  12. Rule Reporting

Once you can see how often a rule fired and which dealers it kept stopping, you also know which one is too tight.
